Who we are
Chemitrace was formed in 2012 by Dr Lathan Ball. Chemitrace’s expertise is in antibody production, immunoassay development and test kit production. Chemitrace’s core activity is the development, manufacture (using an ISO 9001:2008 approved system), supply and support of test kits for monitoring human exposure to harmful chemicals.
Chemitrace has received research and development support from the UK Government (Innovate UK) and the Welsh Government and works closely with academic groups, industry and industrial organisations, regulatory authorities and other diagnostic suppliers and manufacturers.
Chemitrace’s first product is a test kit for monitoring human exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The PAH biomonitoring test employs confirmed technology to provide simple, rapid and cost-effective PAH exposure monitoring.
Chemitrace has presented at relevant international conferences (e.g. ISBM 2013, BOHS 2014, SOT 2015, IOHA 2015, ICOH 2015, BOHS 2016 and Airmon10 in 2022). At BOHS 2014 Chemitrace received the award for the best conference poster. The poster was titled “The Development of a “Point of Care” Test (POCT) for Benzene Biomonitoring.”
